Friends and Neighbors,
As we journey through Holy Week, I encourage you to pause and consider those events that lead us to the joyful celebration of Easter. May that also be reflected in our lives. We walk through hard things and know that God is with us. We hold to the hope that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
We will have the solemn services on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Sunday morning, we will celebrate with exuberance. You are invited to bring flowers to flower the cross, and bells to ring when we sing or say "Alleluia". Take note of the service times (and Easter Egg Hunt) listed in this newsletter. You will also have the opportunity to welcome friends, old and new. Some of them might even sit in "your" seat this week.
The tensions in our own nation and across the world weigh heavily on many of us. Jesus entered into such a broken world. Our Easter celebration isn't a way to block out any of that. Holy Week reminds us that the way to the empty tomb follows the path of the cross and the grave. Following this way, we act with hope and love that transform and heal.
I am grateful to walk this way with you.
Peace,
Fr. John Mark
