Dear Friends,
This Sunday marks a new church year. We begin Advent, the season in which we celebrate the hope while acknowledging that we often hope in the darkness. We can be those people who proclaim hope in the midst of fear and anxiety.
We declare that hope as we pray together. There are opportunities for prayer on Sunday morning as well as other opportunities. We will have a service of Lessons and Carols this Sunday at 5:00 PM. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings there will be Evening Prayer at 5:00 PM.
Of course, this is a great season to take up a practice of personal prayer. We also give during this season. Please take note of the opportunities to give to our Helping Hands food pantry (see the link below and give now). We also have our Christmas remembrances that includes various opportunities to give thanks or remember someone. Your giving helps us do all the ministries that help us feed and tend God's sheep.
This season we base our hope in the glad tidings that God is with us. We proclaim hope by celebrating that Christ is with us. Thank you for all the ways you give of your time, talent, and money to make the love of Christ known in word and deed.
Peace,
Fr. John Mark
