HOUSE MEETINGS - Justice Knox is entering its sixth annual "new year" Listening Process season! This means that the Rev. John Mark Wiggers and our Team Leaders—Mark Abell, Brian Austin, Nick Simson, Carol Yates, and Margaret Bickley—will be inviting folks to our House Meetings which are scheduled throughout September and October. House Meetings are scheduled for a packed 90-minutes where usually a Team Leader and 8-10 folks gather to get to know each other better and to discuss issues that concern us personally and as community members. House Meetings will be held in person and via Zoom. Attending a House Meeting is a great way to get to know fellow parishioners better in a sacred time and space.
Justice Knox is an organization founded on the principle that people power works just as Nehemiah proved when he gathered a great assembly to confront the officials and leaders of his community. At our Nehemiah Action Assembly this past May, we saw the power of people in action when 1,270 of us gathered in person and via Zoom to address our Knoxville mayor, Indya Kincannon, and 7 of our 9 city council members who all agreed to vote for the affordable housing trust fund which is now in place. More St. James Network Members means we will have more influence in creating
the slate of 3 issues that will come from all the House Meetings. In addition, when we have more folks at the Annual Assembly in November, we will have more votes that will influence what new issue will be researched and worked on this next year. People power works.
