3rd Sunday of Easter

Installing Zoom on your device. If you haven’t already done so, and since we’re doing a lot of “Zoom-ing,” you might want to install Zoom on your computer, laptop, or smartphone. Here’s how:

1. Download and install the Zoom app.
  • Go to https://zoom.us/download and from the Download Center, click on the Download button under “Zoom Client for Meetings”. (If using a smart phone or tablet, go to the App Store and search for “Zoom”. Then install the app.)
  • Once the download is complete, proceed to open the downloaded file and proceed with installing the Zoom app onto your computer.

2. When you have installed the app., open it and enter the Meeting Number at the time of the meeting (Note: St. James will begin the Zoom meeting at least 5 minutes before the announced beginning time. You may log in early too.). Enter the password when prompted.
Zoom Best Practices:
  • Keep your microphone muted until it is your turn to speak. This keeps background noice and audio feedback to a minimum.
  • If possible, angle your camera to face directly in front of you at eye level. It’s much more flattering, and we don’t have to look up your nose.
  • During the liturgy, since only a few people have speaking rolls, please turn your camera off to minimize the band-width used into the meeting. This helps to stabilize the connection and better ensures we won’t crash during the prayers. You can turn it back on during the “coffee hour” after the liturgy.
