Membership
St. James’ congregation is primarily drawn from a wide area outside its immediate community.
Less than ten percent are located within three miles of the church, while almost sixty percent reside within five to fifteen miles, and thirteen percent are at a distance of fifteen or more miles.
While not “affluent,” the average household income is between $80,000 and $90,000 per year.
The present membership of 510 has increased during the last three years at an average of more than thirty members per year.
Apparently these parishioners are attracted by the vitality and diversity of the congregation and, among other things, the emphasis on community and outreach.
