Feeding and tending God's sheep
The Doorstep Ministry helps people who come to St. James’ for assistance with food, bill payment or other needs. The office volunteers and staff meet their needs to the best of our ability or connect them with agencies who can help.
The Doorstep Ministry has been at St. James' a long while, under varying names and incarnations. Our job is to answer immediate requests for help, giving walk-away food bags, city bus passes, KUB help, and emergency gasoline vouchers at our own parish front door.
This has been a year of increased need in our area, stretching our resources considerably. With good work from our volunteers, we will continue our efforts to do God's work with the less fortunate.
