Saint Francis Guild
The Saint Francis Guild is a group of approximately 36 men and women whose purpose is to maintain and beautify the grounds of the church to the glory of God. Guild projects are funded by donations from parishioners and friends of Saint James. All members and friends of Saint James are invited to participate in the work of the Saint Francis Guild by donating time, talent, and/or financial resources. This is not a structured committee with members, per se. When a workday is announced, people appear with the work clothes and tools, and they do what needs to be done. It is not unusual for people who cannot come on a scheduled workday to come at their convenience to complete work started by others. On a workday, the workers also enjoy a light lunch and warm fellowship. All parishioners and friends of Saint James are invited to come and “play in the dirt” with the Saint Francis Guild.
