Cursillo
Cursillo is literally, a “short course in Christianity,” offered two weekends annually in the Diocese of East Tennessee. The weekends are conducted by “cursillistas” (those who have been through a weekend) who desire to give to others the love and joy of the living Christ. The primary commitment of those having experienced Cursillo is to be the face of Christ for all who encounter them in the world, at home, in the workplace, in church. Cursillistas are encouraged to meet regularly in small, personal groups in order to reaffirm their Christian commitment to each other and to their brothers and sisters in Christ. A monthly Ultreya group meets at Saint James. This is a larger group of men and women from the Diocese of East Tennessee who have had their Cursillo, who enjoy a small meal and fellowship, a short program, and prayer.
